Join Steamboat for the return of the Captain of the Boat gravity race series. This series focuses on fun and comradery while giving experienced racers can test their skills against the best in the Boat and allowing new racers to enjoy an introduction to the competitive side of mountain biking. While this race is open to the public, all participating riders should be comfortable navigating black level terrain such as Buckin’ Bronco.
This series includes five races starting on Sunday, July 16 and taking place every other Sunday with a season ender Chainless Race on Sunday, September 10. The cost of a single race is $29. A pass for the entire series (all five races) is $99. Series pass holders must maintain possession of their race plate for the duration of the series. Pass holders are also allowed to skip check in but must have their plate mounted prior to the start of each race.
The categories are as follows – Open Age Male, Open Age Female, Funhogs Male, Funhogs female and Groms (13 and Under). Prizes will be awarded to the top three races in each category.
Day of Race Event Schedule:
2:00pm – 4:00 pm check in at Steamboat Bike Shop (Series Pass holders are exempt)
4:15 pm – Load the Steamboat Gondola
4:40 pm – Meeting at the top of the race section. Race Starts immediately following the meeting.

Bike may be rejected by the race officials if they are deemed unfit for use in the event. It is highly recommended that your bike have a minimum of 6 inches of travel, functional disc brakes on both wheels and be specific to aggressive downhill type use.
