Steamboat Ski Resort has announced a huge change breaking ground in April 2021!

Steamboat has decided to embark on a significant change to Gondola Square. The redeveloped plaza will create a world-class guest experience helping to elevate Steamboat Resort’s industry excellence. Plans have been submitted to the City of Steamboat Springs to transform Gondola Square into a multi-use, amenity-rich plaza creating an easy-to-navigate resort core complete with additional dining, shopping, and entertainment.

The redesign includes plans to relocate the gondola to a nearby on-snow location. In place of the gondola building, the plans include a mix of retail space, new restaurants, an ice rink, communal gather spaces, fire pits, and much more. This will create a reimagened arrival expereience that eliminates cumbersome levels and stairs. These enhancements are anticipated to occur over the next three years.
